Schedule at least two weeks in advance.  You may schedule online or contact Rick Kalk (phone 864.949.2350).

If you need to cancel, please contact Rick Kalk the day before your scheduled visit, if possible.

If you plan to bring special needs children, please advise when making your reservations.

Cost: $1.00 per student for Spartanburg county schools, $2.00 per student for others.  On the day of your visit, contact Rick Kalk and give him the number of students who visited SCALE.  Our financial office will send you an invoice.  Please return with a check payable to District Five SCALE project within thirty days.

The site can accommodate two classes per day.

Please arrive at 8:00 or after.  Buses should depart by 1:30.

Buses should load and unload at the crosswalk near the entrance sign on Danzler Road.

Buses may park at D.R. Hill Middle School in the spaces nearest Danzler Road.

You may download a site map from the SCALE web site to guide you during your visit.

Please plan lessons/activities for your students.  Sample lessons are available on the SCALE web site or from Project Learning Tree.

There are two picnic areas on site if you wish to bring a picnic lunch.

All paper/waste must be placed in receptacles.

Children must be supervised at all times.  One adult per ten students is suggested.  Make sure all adults are familiar with our guidelines.  Horseplay, running, etc. should not be allowed.  We expect good behavior.

No leaves, flowers, rocks, … may be removed from the site.

Please leave the site as you find it so that others may enjoy it.
