- District Five Schools of
Spartanburg County - Providing: Student and family services.
- Spartanburg County Adult Education - Provides basic education, GED
preparation, high school diploma, exit exam remediation,and ESOL classes.
- District Five Family Ministries
- A communication network among
churches, schools, and the community for the purpose of identifying families in
need of assistance within the District Five area. Providing: Food, utilities, medicine and
other crisis intervention services.
- Westgate Family Therapy Teaching Clinic - Provides quality
counseling opportunities for families of all economic levels including those
who have insurance and those who can only afford a low fee based on
income. It is staffed by six faculty members and by students and
interns who are in the family therapy program at Converse College. The
Westgate Family Therapy Teaching Clinic also trains students and interns to
be family therapists. They are under the supervision of experienced
and licensed supervisors in family therapy.
- First Steps of Spartanburg County
- A results-oriented, statewide, early
childhood education initiative designed to ensure that South Carolina
children arrive at first grade healthy and ready to succeed. The goal
is family strengthening through a Family Literacy Program. An Early Head Start
Program is located at MTCC.
- CareerSource:
Sponsored by the Upstate Workforce Investment Board, CareerSource offers
weekly orientations for persons needing to find
full-time employment to determine what services are needed before

- Palmetto
Youth Connections: a Community Partnership focused on
serving out-of-school youth ages 16-21 throughout South Carolina. Focus
is to develop community-wide partnerships and collaborations among state
agencies, local municipalities, local workforce investment boards, community
based organizations, faith-based groups, School Districts, Adult Education
programs and others that serve youth. Call

- South
Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department
(SCVRD) - SCVRD has been enabling South Carolinians with
disabilities to prepare for, achieve and maintain competitive employment for
70 years. SCVRD serves more than 40,000 people with disabilities at any
given time. Of those, more than 8,000 a year are placed in jobs paying

- Job Service:
South Carolina Employment Security Commission offers aid in securing
employment. At Middle Tyger Community Center, a Job Service
representative offers assistance on-site once a week with online job search
and resume composition.
- South Carolina Department of Health and
Environmental Control (DHEC) - "We promote and protect the
health of the public and the environment and help our communities to
prosper." Providing: Child health, family planning, family support
services, health education, health promotion, immunizations, nutrition
education and counseling, pregnancy testing, social work, referral and
counseling, vital records (Application Processing), Women-Infant-Children
(WIC) Nutrition Program.
- Spartanburg Alcohol & Drug Abuse Commission
- Provides educational, prevention, and treatment
programs for alcohol and/or other drug abuse.
- Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) - Providing an
Adolescent Prenatal Care Program, screenings & testing, wellness activities, pediatric asthma
program, and geriatric program (future).
- Mental Health Association of the Piedmont - Services include:
Advocacy. Prevention/mental health education and wellness programs for youth
and adults, including: self-esteem; stress management; peer pressure;
problem-solving; conflict resolution; suicide prevention; and depression

House (First Baptist Church of Duncan) - The purpose of the Hope House is to reach people for Jesus Christ by helping
to change lifestyles, to minister of those hurting in times of crisis, and
to care for the well-being of those in the church and community A

Association for Retired Persons (AARP) - AARP's vision is to
