On Wednesday, April 19, 2000,
the Grand Opening Ceremonies and Ribbon Cutting were held for SCALE. The
ceremonies featured performances by the Byrnes High School String Quartet, Beech
Springs Intermediate Chorus, and the JROTC Honor Guard. Special guests
included Rudy Manke, host of SCETV's NatureScene. Students from across
District Five participated in the ceremony and served as tour guides for the
site.
